What is my Exhale account number?
When you first connected your paycheck to Exhale, we created a unique bank account for you under the hood, which we use to allocate funds from your paycheck to your Perks.
This isn’t a traditional bank account that you can access or deposit funds into; it’s just a clearing account that money passes through. However, it still has an account and routing number like any other bank account.
You may recall that when you connected your paycheck to Exhale, you logged in to your payroll system and updated your direct deposit settings to point to your Exhale account. This is how Exhale knows what Perks you're eligible for, and allows us to settle up each paycheck for any Perks you've used throughout the pay period.
Why am I seeing a message that my account number has changed?
On September 30, 2024, our banking partner updated the underlying bank accounts for some of Exhale's users. This was a purely operational change, but resulted in new account numbers for some people. If you're seeing this message, it means your account was affected:
Why do I need to update my direct deposit settings again?
In the event of a change to your Exhale account, you'll need to update your direct deposit settings in payroll again to reflect the new account number. This ensures your paycheck is routed correctly through Exhale to your personal bank account.

If you don't update your direct deposit settings, your paycheck will be sent back to payroll and delayed until the new account number is entered.
I've updated my account number in payroll. Will my next paycheck be delayed?
In most cases, there will be no effect on the delivery of your paycheck. If you’ve updated your direct deposit settings with your new account number, you can expect to receive your next paycheck on time as usual.
Please be aware: If your employer uses ADP with prenotes enabled, you may receive a paper check for the next pay period while ADP verifies the new account information. If you're not sure whether this applies to you, we recommend checking with your employer.
